OhioPHA Case Study
Ohio Public Health Associationwww.ohiopha.org
This project was an upgrade to an existing with dated design and limited membership management functionality. While Wild Apricot was the preferred solution for membership management, it lacked certain features such as job posting and publishing, document management and calendar with public event submission and admin approval for posting.
Also, the design capabilities of Wild Apricot was restrictive based on how they wanted the content organized and displayed.
Our recommendation was to use WordPress as the primary platform with targeted plugins to deliver the desired custom design and functionality while integrating Wild Apricot member management functions seamlessly into the WordPress website.
The result was a supreme balance between form and function. Creating a custom design captured the look and feel they were after while the Wild Apricot integration provided the ease of management and control over member sign ups, renewals, event registration and many more arduous tasks associated with managing a large membership base.
The Ohio Public Health Association (www.ohiopha.org) is a non-profit, professional association with a modest budget. We depend on our website for membership applications/renewals, donations and conference registrations, as well as for maintaining a robust job market and frequent updates about important topics in Public Health - for our members and others.
We NEED a user-friendly website! And after about 8 years with our previous provider, we reviewed several options and chose Q2 Digital for a total revamp. As the Executive Director of this organization - and not a techy person at all - I appreciated how Q2 worked with our web committee through the design discussions, the integration of WordPress and Wild Apricot, the launch and subsequent training for key staff and volunteers.
I love the way the site looks, and how easy it is to add calendar events, job announcements and articles. The member functions work well on the WA side of the site.
I'm sure I've got a lot more to learn, but for now - I cannot thank the Q2 Team enough for all they've done to bring our website up to speed and up to date.
